Subject: TTS status shattered also??

The present situation which is being faced by HEC has severely shattered the confidence of the TTS faculty. This is what the TTS faculty had always been worried about. Sir, please do take some written decision about the future of TTS faculty so that they may continue their jobs without the fear of getting jobless. Most of the faculty members are even eligible for higher posts on BPS, though they decided to accept the challenge to perform well and to put their work for yearly evaluation. Sir, we are looking toward HEC to take the decision (in writing) that in case something happens to the Tenure Track system, they (TTS faculty) should (rather MUST) immediately and automatically be converted to regular BPS posts (on the same scales) in which they had been selected for TTS along with two compensatory increments for each year of service in TTS.  Only  surety like this can bring hope and confidence.

The prevailing uncertainty is badly affecting everything, sir.

We hope and pray for continuation of HEC as it has been working effectively in the past.
Yours sincerely,

Dr. Yasir Jamil,
Assistant Professor,
Laser Spectroscopy Lab.,
Department of Physics,

  1. Dear Yasir,

The TTS statutes states very clearly that in case the government dissolves TTS all the faculty on it will automatically be absorbed as BPS faculty, so you don't need to worry about a job. But what we all should worry about is the fact that money for research and all other scholarly activities will either cease or the provinces will be awarding money to their cronies and favorites, merit will be out of the door as soon as politicians take over such activities :-(
